Anti Wrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle treatments, often referred to by the brand name of the products utilised are used essentially to soften and reduce lines on movement.

They are most commonly used to treat forehead lines as you can see in this photo, frown lines and the lines around the eyes that deepen upon smiling known commonly as Crows feet.

If you have lines at rest then these will generally not be treated with anti wrinkle injections but with dermal fillers.

Anti wrinkle injections work by temporarily freezing the action of the muscles underlying the skin and by doing so limiting their movement and their ability to form lines on the face. Treatment lasts for 3-6 months typically.
Summary of treatment
1. Full assessment and dual treatment planning including photos
2. At treatment appointment reconfirm planned treatment and apply numbing gel/cream to face
3. After 5 minutes carry out series of planned superficial anti-wrinkle injections (number of injections and time taken depends on agreed treatment plan)
4. Treatment complete, allow 30 minutes for any small bumps to disappear as solution disperses into the muscles
5. Effects will begin after 2 days and should be fully evident at 2 weeks
6. You may experience mild bruising around injection sites but otherwise side effects are minimal
Aftercare
1. Go home with post care package and get on with everyday life
2. Have our personal contact numbers and email address in case of questions, problems or emergency.
3. Return for review appointment at 2-3 weeks where we assess treatment success and review the need for any top ups if for some reason there has been no change, or corrections
4. Carry out top ups or corrections as needed using numbing gel first again followed by top up injections where required
5. You will then receive a courtesy appointment  email at 3 months to rebook
FAQs
1. Will it be painful? - the numbing gel is very strong and very effective, clients typically report none to mild pain with these types of injections due to a number of factors including the numbing gel applied, the way the medicine is made up and the superficial nature of the injections. The dermal fillers when placed deeper would tend to be a slightly more uncomfortable procedure

2. Will I need to pay again for a top up at the review appointment? If there has been no change then there is no charge for top-ups; if there has been significant change then there is a charge of £50 per area if you want further injections for further improvement.

3. How long do Anti-wrinkle injections last? - 3-6 months for most common areas but longer for other areas such as with Hyperhydrosis treatment

5. Who should avoid Anti-wrinkle injections? - there are few risks or contraindications when it comes to these injections; any neuromuscular problems contraindicate its use but every client completes a full medical history and screening at their initial consultation which is updated every visit so anything of concern will be discussed on an individual basis prior to your treatment appointment.
